  I'd have a hard time knowing if I wanted to take part in an open-source project without first reading the code...

        Just go to PeopleAggregator.com - have a URL of an image of you in hand, then sign-up. It's pretty crude now - but it's FOAF.
        
        BTW We can import your existing FOAF - as well.
